Ice Storm '09

After spending one night in front of the fire, running out of firewood, driving to Nashville to buy a generator that was too small, buying a bigger generator, selling the small generator, and burning some wood trim and random 2x4's, we're still hanging in there. Actually, God blessed us tremendously last night and restored our power through the endless work of all the power crews. As you've probably heard, there are still countless families in Louisville and all of Kentucky that still do not have power. Continue to pray for them as it appears we may have another storm coming Monday and Tuesday. Despite all the hassle, this week was an awesome blessing. Kristin and I have been so busy lately that it was very refreshing to have a break from travel and school to simply hang out with each other. It's the closest to camping I can get Kristin, so secretly I enjoyed it. She was perplexed and a little agravated when we arrived home to restored power only for me to be disappointed...I'd spent $643 on a 5000 watt generator the night before...I REALLY wanted to play with my new toy. Nevertheless, we're very thankful that God's blessed us with power, as so many still do not have it and will probably not have power for several weeks.

We've been visiting a new church in town that we've fallen in love with. Our desire has been to find a church a little closer to Kristin's school so that we can bring any students that express interest in going to church with us, as this has previously not been an option because our churches have been over an hour away. We'll update soon as God continues to lead us.

We're also getting ready to send out resumes and begin the search for a position post-graduation. While I've always felt that God was leading me to pastor, He has grown that desire in both of us even more so during the last several months. We're so excited to discover where He's leading us. Continue to pray for us in that matter.

Eden Noel Myers is continuing to grow, as is Mommy. Hopefully, we'll be having 3D ultrasounds soon and will post them for everyone to gloat over. Kristin is doing great, with very little sickness. Continue to pray for Eden and that God will prepare her parents to be the biblical parents we should be. And feel free to reply with some parenting tips...as we surely need them!!!

We'll post some pictures from Ice Storm '09 over the next couple days, so be sure to check back soon. And please continue to pray for our fellow Kentuckians during this recovery and for the safety of all the crews working to restore power.
